Prominent Federal Ministries of Finance, Power and Niger Delta as well as the Commerce and Industry portfolio were filled yesterday when President Umaru Yar'adua swore-in another four new ministers who were confirmed by the Senate last week.
Former Director-General of the Debt Management Office Dr. Mansur Mukhtar was assigned the Finance portfolio, to replace Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, while former Secretary to the Government of the Federation [SGF] Obong Ufot Ekaette was assigned to the new Niger Delta ministry. Dr. Rilwan Babalola, an energy economist, was appointed Minister of Power, while former governor of Imo State Chief Achike Udenwa was assigned the Commerce and Industry Ministry portfolio. |
