Shailendra Bhandari, a former Citibanker and who previously headed Centurion Bank of Punjab, has been appointed the new MD and CEO of Bangalore-headquartered ING Vysya Bank for three years. He succeeds Vaughn Richtor, till recently the MD & CEO of the bank.
The ING Group, a Dutch banking and insurance giant, has a 44% holding in the Bangalore bank and views India as one of the key emerging markets, besides China.Mr Bhandari, an alumnus of Delhi’s St Stephen’s College and IIM, Ahmedabad, was till recently heading the private equity arm of Tata Capital.
