Retail fit-out company Styles & Wood Group Plc (LSE: STY) has appointed Philip Lanigan as group finance director to replace Graham Clark, who is leaving in what was described as “a planned retirement” following the recent refinancing.Lanigan, 45, takes up his post on August 1, joining from from Ashtead Technology Ltd, the private equity owned equipment rental business, where he has been group finance director since November 2008.
A Price Waterhouse-trained chartered accountant, he has worked in industry since 1994, first with NIS Ltd. Then from 1999 to 2005, he was group finance director of NNC Holdings Ltd, a private equity backed engineering consultancy and project management services group.In 2005 he joined NES Group, the Altrincham-based technical recruitment company, as finance director. In March 2007 he joined ATM operator Cardpoint Plc as group finance director, where he was involved in the merger with Alphyra to create Payzone Plc, which he left on completion of the merger.
