The Hattiesburg banking industry continues to grow and offer area residents more options for meeting their banking needs.A number of banks in the area have developed or are in the process of opening new locations, which offer a wide range of services.The most recent development came from Citizens Bank, a Columbia-based operation with branches in Sumrall, Seminary, Wiggins, Tylertown and Magnolia.

Last fall, Citizens opened a branch as a part of the Market at Bellevue, a development located near the intersection of Mississippi 589 and U.S. 98. Citizens delayed its official grand opening until February and has now been in full-operation mode for several months, offering a drive-thru, ATM, a mortgage center and a loan center, which offers both commercial and consumer loans.
