Buzz Media, Fwix and the Altimeter Group all had annoucements recently.Fwix, a local consumer newswire that combines traditional local news content with validated user-contributed stories, will be launching an iPhone app. The company also announced that it has secured an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from BlueRun Ventures.

Doug Rohrer, formerly MTV Networks’ Executive Vice President of Sales, has been named Chief Revenue Officer of BUZZMEDIA. Andi Poch has been named Senior Vice President of Ad Sales. Poch, who previously served as Vice President of Ad Sales for MTV.Social networking guru Charlene Li said she has added former Forrester research analysts Jeremiah Owyang and Ray Wang to her consulting firm Altimeter Group, along with Deborah Schultz, the former marketing director of Six Apart.
