Morris Bank A Common Sense Approach to Banking

May 11, 2009

It was a sun-drenched, mid-April afternoon. And 15 people grabbed an equal number of shovels to hoist the first piles of dirt to signify ground breaking on Morris Bank’s new central office. The ceremony, followed by the building that was erected over the next year, was designed to signify Morris Bank’s 50-plus year commitment to Dublin and Laurens County, as well as their work toward downtown revitalization.Flash forward to 2009, and Morris Bank (formerly Morris State Bank) has continued to remain a strong force in the Dublin and Laurens County community.

“Our bank has been solid and rooted firmly in Dublin/Laurens County since 1951,” said President Spence Mullis. “We started operations in what is now referred to as the “skyscraper” downtown. Since 1951, we’ve believed in a common sense approach to banking and are excited about Laurens County and our future here.”From their sky scraping beginnings, to their current craftsman-style expanses, Morris Bank has been a leading force in the local banking industry, helping the company employ nearly 50 area residents across two offices and an internet branch.
