A Frederick native is bringing his self-described "common sense and community principles" to a local bank.Robert F. Waltz, 60, was recently named a director at Woodsboro Bank. Waltz is president of N.E. "Bob" Waltz Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Frederick and has worked at the company full time since 1975, when he joined his father, Norman, who established the company in 1956.
His 84-year-old "semi-retired" father still comes to the office every day, and the business has become a third-generation family affair, with Waltz's son Jeffrey joining the company three years ago and currently working as a manager, Waltz said. It's a critical time to work with the banking industry, especially a community bank such as Woodsboro, Waltz said, and he feels honored to have even been considered for a position with the bank's board.
